FIELD HOCKEY — Stevenson High School has named Laura Camastro as its new head girls field hockey coach.

The 2001 Stevenson graduate takes over for Janette Eichfeld, who has held the post since 2003.

Camastro has been the program’s assistant coach since 2007. She also is an assistant for the girls lacrosse team at Stevenson.

“I’m ecstatic for this opportunity,” Camastro noted. “Field hockey is undoubtedly gaining popularity in our area, so this is a perfect time for me to step in and help grow the Stevenson program the best I can. I’m also looking forward to coaching a varsity team and helping elevate our already talented players to the next level.”

Camastro also has served as an assistant coach with Windy City Field Hockey for the past two years.
