Letter: Morrison for State Senate

With the retirement of Susan Garrett and Karen May, we are losing two powerful, compassionate voices in Springfield. But with every sad departure, there is opportunity for new beginnings.

Julie Morrison represents one such opportunity. We all know Garrett’s shoes will be tough to fill, but in Julie Morrison, we are assured of an effective, seasoned spokesperson who will put people before partisanship, ideas before ideology, and results before rancor.

Julie will hit the ground running on behalf of her constituents. She knows the district well, understands the concerns of those who live here. And her years of public service have prepared her well for the nuts and bolts of government and legislation.

I am very proud to support this accomplished individual and hope you will join me in voting twice for Julie Morrison — first in the Democratic Primary on March 20, and then in the General Election in November.
