The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Buffalo Grove police department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

BATTERY

Esteban Plata, 39, of the 900 block of Shady Grove Drive, was arrested Aug. 3 at his residence and charged with domestic battery, resisting a peace officer and two counts of criminal damage.

BURGLARY

A woman who lives on the 500 block of Patton Drive came home Aug. 1, just in time to see her adult son, who does not live with her, walking out of the garage. She asked him how he got into her house, and the report indicates that he replied “Through a front window.” The son left, and the mother checked her possessions, and found jewelry and medications missing.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

A dating couple were sitting in the girlfriend’s car Aug. 1 in a parking lot on the first block of North McHenry Road; they got into an argument, and the woman broke up with her boyfriend. “As the boyfriend exited the car, he kicked at it a number of times, causing $647 in damage,” the report reads.

Someone damaged a car’s driver-side Aug. 3 on the 1200 block of Johnson Drive, shooting it with BBs.

FOUND PROPERTY

A resident of the 800 block of Horatio Boulevard found a blue bag with marijuana and drug paraphernalia tossed into her bushes Aug. 3.

A man found a black Esprit men’s wallet Aug. 3 in a parking lot on the 1000 block of Johnson Drive, with a driver’s license, social security and credit cards.

LITTERING

Someone in a car passing through the first block of St. Mary’s Parkway threw trash out of the window and onto a resident’s lawn Aug. 1. The resident reported this litterbug to the police, who could not locate the car.


NEIGHBOR
PROBLEM

A resident of Oak Creek Drive told police Aug. 5 that she has been having issues with a neighbor. She believes this neighbor is getting back at her by placing cucumber slices near her patio.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA

An Arlington Heights 15-year-old was arrested Aug. 7 at the intersection of Dundee and Old Arlington Heights roads and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and curfew violation.

THEFT

Someone stole a blue Dave Mirra 540 Signature bicycle Aug. 1 from the Metra train station, 850 Commerce Court.

A former employee of a business on the 100 block of West Half Day Road returned the to office twice from June 8 to June 13 to retrieve her personal property; the business owner later told police that she may have also taken company property as well. He later discovered more than $10,000 in business materials were missing.

Someone confiscated a wallet Aug. 3, which a woman had accidentally left on a shopping cart at Dominick’s, 770 S. Buffalo Grove Road.

Someone stole a garden hose sometime between July 27 and Aug. 1 from a residence on the 300 block of Raupp Boulevard.

Someone stole a $500 wood-chipper between Aug. 2 and Aug. 5 on the 600 block of Sycamore Road.

Someone stole a mobile phone Aug. 6 while the owner was riding at the skate park, 1000 N. Buffalo Grove Road.

VANDALISM

Someone placed a television and two dumbbells Aug. 6 on a front lawn on the 200 block of Navajo Trail.

WARRANT ARREST

Julia Timchenko, 22, of the 800 block of Weidner Road, was arrested July 31 at her residence for a parole violation warrant.
