The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Buffalo Grove police department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

ASSISTING
OUTSIDE DEPARTMENT

Buffalo Grove residents called police July 15, saying their child was missing. Buffalo Grove called Lincolnshire officers for assistance, and they searched the area of Half Day Road and Oxford Drive. The boy was later found — hiding under a coffee table in the family’s house.

BURGLARY

A thief opened an unlocked car July 13 on the 300 block of Glendale Road, stealing a mobile phone.

Someone entered a garage July 14 on the 1300 block of Devonshire Road, snatching a purse with credit and gift cards, as well as a $400 pair of prescription sunglasses.

Someone entered an unlocked car July 14 on the 700 block of Dannet Road, stealing a satellite radio and loose change.

A thief entered an unlocked van July 14 on the 500 block of Crown Point Court, getting away with a GPS and a wallet containing $165.

Someone stole a GPS July 14 from an unlocked car on the 1200 block of Devonshire Road.

Someone forced open a sliding glass door July 15 at a house on the 600 block of the 600 block of Hapsfield Lane, stealing a $600 iPad and costume jewelry.

Someone stole two 12-inch subwoofers and an amplifier from the trunk of an unlocked car July 15 on the 600 block of Hapsfield Lane.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

Vandals left long scratches sometime between July 4 and July 7 on a car parked on the 500 block of Lyon Drive.

Someone punctured a car’s tire July 13 on the 400 block of Parkview Terrace.

Someone set off an M-80 firework inside a mailbox July 14 on the 300 block of Checker Drive; when the owner came home, “she found her mailbox on fire,” the report reads.

Someone hit a minivan with four BBs, sometime in December, on the 600 block of Hapsfield Lane.

DRIVING COMPLAINT

A man drove his Dodge Charger in circles July 15 through the neighborhood around Fremont Way and Providence Lane, drawing suspicions from a resident. When police contacted him, “the driver stated that he was attempting to burn off the old gas in the car before putting in new gas,” the report reads.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Jason Karl Tuller, 34, of the first block of Timberhill Road, Buffalo Grove, was arrested July 13 at the intersection of Dundee and Buffalo Grove roads and charged with driving under the influence.

Pamela Carol Hogan, 55, of the 900 block of South Pine Tree Court, Buffalo Grove, was arrested July 14 on the 800 block of Commerce Court and charged with DUI.

FAILING TO REDUCE SPEED

Printa Everette-Williams, 35, of 623 Deer Run Road, Palatine, was arrested July 3 on the 400 block of East Deerfield Parkway and charged with driving without a license or insurance and failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash. She had a July 20 court date in Mundelein.

FOUND BICYCLE

A resident of the 1100 block of Johnson Drive reported a black-and-silver mountain bike July 10, which had been leaning against a building’s wall for more than a month.

INTERFERENCE WITH
PUBLIC UTILITIES

A renter living on St. Mary’s Parkway told police July 10 that she and her landlord were having a dispute about her lack of rent payments. When police learned that the landlord, Viktor Filippov, age and address unlisted, had turned off the tenant’s gas and water, they arrested him the next day for three counts of interference with public utilities.

INVESTIGATION

A clerk at a gas station on the 500 block of McHenry Road reported July 15 that someone had climbed onto the building’s roof, then jumped off and drove away in a black car. At about that time, the clerk’s register went offline, and he could not get it working again.

MOTORIST DISPUTE

One driver cut another off on July 8 near the intersection of Lake Cook and Weidner roads; the victim retaliated by cutting the aggressor off as well. At a red light, the two exited their cars, pushed, spat on and punched each other, then left.

POSSESSION OF
MARIJUANA

William Robert Heydenburg, 49, of the first block of Columbus Parkway, Buffalo Grove, was arrested July 8 on the first block of Columbus Parkway and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

A Buffalo Grove 17-year-old was arrested July 10 at Willow Stream Park, on the 600 block of Farrington Drive, and charged with possess of drug paraphernalia and alcohol by a minor, and possession and delivery of marijuana.

A 17-year-old from Deerfield and a 16-year-old from Riverwoods were arrested July 14 at the intersection of Dundee and Arlington Heights roads and charged with consumption of alcohol by minors; the 16-year-old was also charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

THEFT

Someone stole a bicycle July 11, which the owner had locked at the train station, 2701 Main St.

Someone stole a handicap placard July 10 from a car parked on the 1100 block of Lake Cook Road with its windows rolled down.

Someone pocketed three bottles of champagne, valued at $658.47, on July 8 at Dominick’s, 770 S. Buffalo Grove Road.

Someone stole a $199 mobile phone during an estate sale July 14 on the 1300 block of Hidden Lake Drive.
