OAK BROOK
An FBI spokesman said Friday the man who robbed Fifth Third Bank in Oak Brook Nov. 29 is the same person who robbed a PNC Bank Nov. 19 in Buffalo Grove.
In both robberies, the man reportedly walked up to a teller and demanded money before fleeing on foot.
The Oak Brook robbery took place about 5 p.m. Nov. 29.
Oak Brook police said they responded to the bank, 1603 16th St., near Illinois 83, for a report of a bank robbery that had just occurred.
Police were told that a white man entered the bank and, after walking around, approached a teller, asking for the money in the drawer. The offender left the bank and was last seen on foot walking west from the bank.
As far as police know, the offender did not have a weapon, said officer George Peterson of the Oak Brook Police Department.
The offender is described as being about 35-40 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and 165-175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark-striped skullcap, dark-colored sweatshirt/jacket, and gray shorts over spandex. He was wearing glasses and had short stubble for facial hair.
Oak Brook police are investigating with the assistance of the FBI, DuPage County Sheriff’s office, and police departments in Oakbrook Terrace and Lombard.~.
