At Congregation Beth Am, 225 N. McHenry Road, the public is invited to a Hanukkah service at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14. Families are welcome to bring their menorahs as the congregation will have tables set up, and worshippers will be able to light their candles together.
During the service, Beth Am’s junior choir will sing, and officiants will give birthday blessings to everyone born in December.
A special Hanukkah party will follow the service, with dreidels and assorted activities for children.
Officials at numerous other local synagogues said they are planning congregational events and observances for their memberships.
