Cops bust underage drinking party in Buffalo Grove

BUFFALO GROVE — Watchful neighbors in Buffalo Grove led police to a Labor Day weekend party which resulted in 10 arrests for alleged underage drinking.

Buffalo Grove police got a call Aug. 31 from a resident on the 700 block of Aspen Drive, who believed burglars had broken into the house next door while the owners were out of town.

When police arrived, officers allegedly found the homeowners’ grandson and about 15 friends with beer cans and vodka in the house, according to the department’s report.

Officers reported that they took into custody nine underage teens from Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire, Long Grove, Kildeer and Vernon Hills. The nine and Joseph A. Hugener, 18, of the 4400 block of Hamelton Court, Kildeer, all were charged with possession and underage consumption of alcohol. The 16-year-old grandson, also of Buffalo Grove, faces a social host responsibility charge as well.
