Lincolnshire clinic helps Stevenson Patriots get back on the field

LINCOLNSHIRE — Stevenson High School athletes wear green and gold, but when their post-game bodies turn black and blue, they may want to consider a trip to the nearby sports injury clinic.
Complete Orthopaedic Care, 100 Village Green Drive in Lincolnshire, accepts walk-in patients from 8 to 10 a.m. every Saturday through Oct. 20, which coincides with the end of the Patriot football team’s regular season.
Lisa Wolf, the manager at Complete Orthopaedic Care, said the office has long been looking for new ways to meet the needs of local athletes, in addition to its current services for the elderly and those recovering from injuries.
“We try to take care of everything,” she said. “We’re very much involved in the community, because the community supported us all these years.”
It’s been 30 years since the orthopaedic center opened in Long Grove. Its team of four doctors outgrew its first office 12 years ago, and became one of the original tenants in Lincolnshire’s Village Green. Complete Ortho’s new space features a 6,000-square-foot gym upstairs and another 6,000 square feet of physicians’ offices on the ground floor.
The care center averages about 100 patients each day, Wolf said, and offers a physical therapy clinic, imaging, bracing, casting and splinting in-house. Each doctor also practices in nearby hospitals, and is on staff with local colleges and high schools — which helped Complete connect with Stevenson.
The local partnership began around 1985, said Stevenson spokesman Jim Conrey.
“We’ve had an excellent relationship with Complete Ortho over the years, and are very satisfied with the care they’ve provided to our athletes,” Conrey said.
Wolf said this is the clinic’s fourth year hosting the Saturday clinic for Patriot athletes. The idea came from Dr. Mark Neault.
“We do quite a bit of sports medicine,” Wolf said. “If anything happens on Friday night, we’re available on Saturday morning.”
No appointment is necessary, and billing is the same as a regular appointment on a weekday, she added. On weekday’s Complete Ortho’s staff also includes two athletic trainers, three physical therapists, two occupational therapists and its own billing department.
“We don’t outsource anything, we try to keep everything right here,” Wolf said.
