The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Buffalo Grove police department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

BURGLARY

Someone stole a purse July 24 from an unlocked car on the 500 block of Bernard.

A thief entered an unlocked house July 26 on Trace Drive, stealing a laptop computer.

A thief stole cash July 28 from an unlocked car on the 1000 block of Whitehall Drive.

Someone made off July 28 with electronics from an unlocked car on the 1100 block of Whitehall Drive.

CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL BY A MINOR

Jia H. Shi, 20, of the 400 block of Swan Court, Deerfield; and Nathan E. Rubenstein, 20, of an unlisted Long Grove address, were arrested July 28 on the 1300 block of North Arlington Heights Road. Officers charged both with having a fictitious driver’s license and possession and consumption of alcohol.

Justin J. Kelly, 18, of the 600 block of Tanglewood, Arlington Heights; and Stephanie A. Dunsheath, 18, of the 500 block of Spruce, Palatine, were arrested July 30 at the intersection of Dundee Road and Vernon Lane. Police charged Kelly with possession of drug paraphernalia and consumption of alcohol, and Dunsheath with having a suspended driver’s license, not using headlights when required and consumption of alcohol.

FAILING TO
REDUCE SPEED

Armando Godinez-Salgado, 31, of the 38200 block of Sheridan Road, Beach Park, was arrested July 24 at the intersection of Weiland Road and Pauline Avenue and charged with failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash and having no license or insurance.

INVESTIGATION

A Buffalo Grove resident of an unlisted address left his juvenile daughter home alone on July 30. When he returned, he found “two empty cases of beer, two empty bottles of Jack Daniels, used shot glasses, three large holes in the wall and a wireless keyboard missing,” and his daughter also nowhere to be found, the report reads. A police social worker is following up.

NEIGHBOR
PROBLEM

A resident of Oak Creek Drive became dismayed July 24 when the neighbors above her threw cigarettes off their balcony. The upstairs neighbors responded by pouring water through their balcony, soaking her patio chairs and table.

More balcony problems ensued on Oak Creek Drive: On July 25, a resident told police that her upstairs neighbor poured water from her balcony, which splashed on her below. The woman being splashed then fell and injured her ankle.

THEFT

Someone stole six bottles of tequila July 21 from a grocery store on the 700 block of South Buffalo Grove Road.

Someone stole a generator valued at $2,300 July 26 from a construction trailer on Apple Hill Road.

A Mount Prospect woman stopped July 27 at the Shell gas station at 1200 Arlington Heights Road, filled up with $51.42, then left without paying. The clerk had the driver’s information, and the police called her mobile phone — numerous times. “The person answering the phone kept hanging up on the officer,” the report reads. So Buffalo Grove called Mount Prospect police, who discussed the issue with her.

Someone stole a sewer grate July 30 from the parking lot of a business on the 300 block of Hastings Drive.

Anitra N. Morris, 37, of the 100 block of North Waller Avenue, Chicago, was arrested July 28 at the intersection of Dundee and Arlington Heights roads for a DuPage County failure to appear warrant.
