Stevenson stages ‘The Miracle Worker’

This past Friday and Saturday, Stevenson High School’s Fine Arts Division staged its freshman-sophomore play, “The Miracle Worker.”

The play is based on the life of Helen Keller and her relationship with Annie Sullivan, the educator who transformed her life, according to the school. Katia Podtynov was cast as Helen Keller, while Abby Conlon was Annie Sullivan. The cast included Aidan Murphy, Monica Marro, Justin Horowitz, Alyson Low, Jack Buttacavoli, Jessica Daly, Shepard Swift, Dylan Projansky, Allison Phillips, Arielle Cheifetz, Masha Feingold, Danielle Gordon, Sara Mahini, Lauren Prather, Erica Smolinski, Tommy Roers, Chris Moseley, Noah Chisman, Alex Knezevic and Rebecca Krakman.

Cynthia Lynch was the director, said the school. Set design and technical direction was provided by Stephen P. Carmody, with additional technical direction from Rich Meltzer. Aliceson Hackett-Rubel handled costume design, and Rachel Canter were head dresser/design assistant. Jared Granoff was in charge of sound design, and worked the sound board with Joel Glickman, the light board operator. Dana Sussman was the stage manager, Hannah Perl the transition musician, Julia Czoch and Rachael Weisz costume dressers, and Emily Brown make-up assistant and dresser. The set construction crew consisted of Jason Greenwald, Amanda Salter, Kolin Jungmann and Kevin Williams.
