Buffalo Grove Police Blotter for Jan. 23

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Buffalo Grove Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

BURGLARY

Someone entered a vehicle Jan. 15 on the 100 block of Buffalo Grove Road, stealing an iPod power cord, but leaving behind a multitude of cigarette ashes on the driver’s seat.

Someone broke into a locked residence Jan. 18 on the 2500 block of North Apple Hill Court, ransacking the bedroom and causing a loss of around $500.

THEFT

Someone stole a wallet Jan. 16 from a business on the 1200 block of Dundee Road.

ALCOHOL

Simon Benjamin Misrac, 62, of 1332 Larchmont Drive, Buffalo Grove, was arrested Jan. 15 at the intersection of Buffalo Grove Road and Church Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal lane use. He has a Feb. 8 court appearance in Waukegan.

Matthew Kenneth Brainerd, 30, of 545 Alcoa Lane, Hoffman Estates, was arrested Jan. 17 at the intersection of Lake Cook Road and Milwaukee Avenue and charged with DUI alcohol and speeding. He has a Feb. 8 Wheeling court date.

Jodi Lynn Wilson, 43, of 595 Patton Drive, Buffalo Grove, was arrested Jan. 18 at the intersection of Arlington Heights Road and Auburn Lane and charged with DUI alcohol and driving too fast for conditions. She has a Feb. 8 court date in Waukegan.

Matthew Robert Parker, 49, of 2530 W. Hutchinson, Chicago, was arrested Jan. 18 at the intersection of Dundee at Vernon and charged with DUI alcohol, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, transportation of open alcohol and illegal lane use. He has a Feb. 15 court appearance in Waukegan.

CRIMINAL
DAMAGE

Someone smashed a window and kicked in the door to the cellar of a building on the first block of North Buffalo Grove Road between Jan. 10 and 18, but did not steal anything.

FOUND PROPERTY

A woman living on the 1200 block of South Wellington Court handed over to the police on Jan. 20 three swords that she no longer wanted. According to police, she “did not feel comfortable to place the items in the garbage.”
