Manicure and Merlot returns to local salon

The Best Salon and Spa, 139 McHenry Road, Buffalo Grove, is hosting its Sixth Annual “Manicure and Merlot,” a benefit to raise money for The American Cancer Society, 4:40-9:30 p.m. Feb. 13.

The event is sponsored by The Lady Lifesavers, a team of eight local women who have raised more than $155,000 over the past six years and will participate in The American Cancer Society’s Shamrock Shuffle.

Specially selected services will be offered, as well as free wine, food, live entertainment, boutique vendors and gold buying. There is a raffle that, thanks to local merchant donations, has more than $6,000 in prizes.

Services include: Manicure $16; Mini-Pedicure $25; Mini-facial $35; 30 min. Massage $35

Appointments necessary if service is desired, but attendance is free. All profits from this event will benefit the American Cancer Society.

Presenting this event for the past five years, The Best Salon has raised more than $18,000. Owner Marilyn Wagner believes that this will be the most successful event to date.
