Buffalo Grove police blotter for Oct. 23 - Oct. 30, 2012

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Buffalo Grove Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

BURGLARY

Electronics and stereo equipment were stolen from a car Oct. 26 on the 600 block of Hapsfield Lane.

Stereo equipment was stolen from an unlocked car between Oct. 18 and Oct. 29 on Oak Creek Drive.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

Plants were removed from a condominium garden and left on a nearby sidewalk Oct. 23 on the 1000 block of Courtland Drive.

The two driver-side tires of a car were slashed Oct. 23 on the 300 block of Hastings Drive.

A pair of mailboxes was damaged Oct. 23 on Lake Boulevard.

A window was smashed Oct. 28 at Aptakisic Junior High, 1231 Weiland Road, and a portable toilet was overturned.

A car’s hood was damaged Oct. 28 while it was parked in a lot on the 700 block of West Lake-Cook Road.

A paintball gun was used Oct. 30 to shoot out a car’s tail lights on the first block of Canterbury Lane.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Peter J. Cannistra, 51, of the 1800 block of Oriole Drive, Elk Grove, was arrested Oct. 23 at the intersection of Arlington Heights and Checker roads and charged with driving under the influence and driving too fast for the conditions.

Robert Joseph Higgason, 28, of the 27300 block of Primrose Lane, Mundelein, was arrested Oct. 23 at the intersection of Bernard Drive and Arlington Heights Road and charged with DUI, speeding and illegal lane use.

Carol Lynn Targun, 50, of the 2600 block of Oak, Northbrook, was arrested Oct. 23 at the intersection of Krause Road and Deerfield Parkway and charged with DUI.

Christopher James Seligman, 25, of the 1900 block of West Spring Ride Drive, Arlington Heights, was arrested Oct. 24 at the intersection of Arlington Heights Road and Bernard Drive and charged with DUI and having no license.

Joseph Balogh, 63, of the 1000 block of Cambridge, Buffalo Grove, was arrested Oct. 27 at his residence and charged with driving under the influence, unsafe backing up and having no insurance or registration.

Kamila D. Yildiz, 33, of the 9600 block of Brandy Court, Des Plaines, was arrested Oct. 28 at the intersection of Buffalo Grove and McHenry roads and charged with DUI and speeding.

FORGERY

A counterfeit $100 bill was used Oct. 23 at a business on the 1200 block of West Dundee Road.

DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

Nelson Castillo, 37, of the 3000 block of Central Road, Glenview, was arrested Oct. 28 at the intersection of Lake-Cook and Weiland roads and charged wih possession of drug paraphernalia and having an obstructed windshield.

DRUGS

Kirk R. Peters, 21, of the 500 block of Sycamore Road, Buffalo Grove, was arrested Oct. 25 at the intersection of Raupp Boulevard and Bernard Drive and charged with possession of marijuana, having no lights on when required, disobeying a traffic control device and driving on an expired license.

THEFT

A pair of platinum and diamond earrings was stolen sometime before Oct. 25 from a residence on the 300 block of East Dundee Road.

Someone drove off from a gas station on the 1200 block of North Arlington Heights Road on Oct. 25 without paying for $36.73 worth of fuel.
